Asian Underwater Hockey Cup
The Asian Underwater Hockey Championships (AUHC) is the premier underwater hockey (UWH) competition where the various Asian UWH National Teams strive to be crowned the best in Asia.
It was started by The Philippines, Japan and Singapore to grow the sport in the Asian region sheltered from the powerhouses such as Australia, New Zealand and Turkey in the wider Asia Pacific. Though the nations and teams competing at AUHC are relatively newer to UWH, this tournament nonetheless brings together the best athletes from Asia. The mission is to promote the sport of underwater hockey, provide a platform for the athletes to showcase and pit their skills against one another, and very importantly, foster better relations amongst the Asian UWH communities.
This 8th edition resembles a renaissance for a few reasons. It is the first AUHC after an hiatus due to Covid-19, it is a new beginning for 3 nations joining AUHC for the very first time, it marks a new beginning as we incorporate the Youth and Master divisions for the first time, it heralds a new beginning with the name change from Asian Underwater Hockey Championship to Cup. Yet, it is also a reconnection of old ties, a reunion for the Asian UWH communities after half a decade, and a reaffirmation of our passion and commitment to the sport of underwater hockey.
Join us on 8th August 2024 at this 8th edition of AUHC in Singapore as we celebrate the progress we have made together and take a deep breath as we continue to conquer the challenges underwater and push the boundary in UWH growth and developments. Let’s make Waves!
Every action, no matter how small, creates ripples that extend far beyond their point of origin. Similarly, in our breathtaking world of underwater hockey, every flick, every kick creates ripple effects that amplify the sport.
"Let's Make Waves" embodies the spirit of unity, progress, and collective action. It's a rallying cry for our Asian underwater hockey community to come together, push boundaries, and make a significant impact. Just as waves are formed by the collective energies of the water body, so too are great achievements in sport the result of the combined efforts of dedicated athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters.
So, as we gather for the 8th edition of AUHC, let's embrace the challenge to push boundaries and make waves together!
